Keep Wales Tidy

We are delighted to have been awarded a grant of almost £500 by Keep Wales Tidy. This money will be used to buy tools more suitable for use by the younger pupils who work with us and to purchase plants that are recommended to attract insects such as butterflies and bees. The work will be carried out next Spring in Rhydypenau Park with the help of Rhydypenau, Lakeside, Coed Glas and Ton yr Ywen Junior Schools.
We are also pleased to be involved with a second grant of nearly £500 which has been allocated to Llanishen High School. We have been working with the school for some time and this money will allow us to extend the orchards in Rhydyblewin and Rhydypenau meadows. The intention is that we shall be able to buy older native species of fruit trees for the pupils to plant.
