We would like to send out a very big thank you to all who engaged with Cardiff Council’s consultation on their Active Travel Network Map proposals in respect of the Nant Fawr corridor. Thank you to all who supported us in voicing your concerns and objections to the proposals of building a superhighway through the site.
At the close of the consultation there were 476 responses
for the Cyncoed ward, which was nearly 35% of the entire response rate across
all wards.
As we understand it from the department of Planning,
Transport and Environment the responses will be analysed and subject to the
outcome of this consultation process changes may be made to the Active Travel
Network Map before it is finalised and presented to the Welsh Government in
time for the deadline of 31st December.
We have been assured by the above department that “the
majority of routes and schemes proposed on the Active Travel Network Map will
still be subject to further design and development work, including public
consultation on detailed scheme proposals and this would apply to any proposals
within the Nant Fawr Corridor”.
