It could almost have been Spring; the weather was mild and the trees are starting to bud and flower. Over 20 volunteers turned out and 6 Wesh Bacc boys joined the work party. We splint into three groups again:
The first group was left in Rhydypenau Woods to tackle the invasive Laurel trees.
The second group went up to complete the Bee and Butterfly Border in Rhydypenau meadow. The wire was replaced on the stakes to demarcate the edge so that people (and mowers) stay on the meadow area. Bee boxes were put out around in the hedgerow and then the planted area was scattered with yellow rattle and wild flower seeds.
The third group went down to the upper Rhydypenau Rd entrance near the bus stop. This area has become overgrown and a little neglected and an effort is being made to improve it.
