Work day January 25th 2015

Once again,we were lucky with the weather!
A good turn out (23 volunteers) meant that we were able to tackle three different tasks.

Hedging is an old art and one team continued with the cutting of the trees to form the new framework. This is due to be completed next month.

The second team of stronger(!) volunteers dismantled the corral that had been built for cattle; the plans for grazing have had to be abandoned for now and the structure has yielded wood that can be recycled elsewhere.

The third team tackled the brambles, saplings and general undergrowth near the old reservoir so that the flowers have less competition this Spring.

Thank you also to Mair and her Dad (who collected the litter that had accumulated around the bird viewing platform) and the 4 new volunteers who joined us today.
