June
The work on the paths continues. The poor weather this year has really caused problems and it has been a relief to have the sunshine to dry out a little bit - and it certainly makes working easier!
We are also trying to improve the meadow biodiversity by scattering wild flower seeds in prepared ground in the meadows.
On this occasion we collected yellow rattle seeds for sowing. This should control grass growth so that the flowers have a better chance of growing. We hope to make this an ongoing task over the next few years.
What sign?
We may complain about the weather but the plants have grown well this year. A certain amount of "cutting back" has been essential and kept the paths passable.
