Explorer Trail : -This activity has been designed for younger children and consists of a series of posts will have raised plaques for "rubbings" on them, showing the trees and wildlife to be searched for in the woods. A map is provided to help the children find the posts. As well as spaces to do the rubbings (using a pencil or crayon), there are descriptions in the booklet about the animals and plants shown. Taking along older children too? There is now an extra leaflet for them too - see the link on the top right of the Home page for both, plus some possible answers! (For more information see the Explorer Trail page)
Scavenger Hunt : - This is a game in which the organizers prepare a list defining specific items, which the participants (of any age), either individuals or teams, seek to gather all items. All you need is a plastic bag and the list (and a prize?) - see the link on the top right of the Home page.
Plan a walk : - The maps on the site can be used to design a walk - how many different habitats can you identify and visit? Remember, the Nant Fawr Community Woodland connects through the Wild Gardens and Roath Park at one end, and to the Public footpaths to Llanishen and Lisvane at the others. Don't forget the play area at the top of Rhyd-y-pennau Park.
