Green Days project

The Green Days project helps adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health problems to gain the skills and confidence that will help them to lead independent lives within their local communities. The project is carried out in parks, nature reserves and green spaces across South Wales in the Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan and Rhondda Cynon Taff areas, and carries out a wide range of activities from hands on conservation work like coppicing, planting and habitat maintenance, to nature walks and biodiversity surveys. They work closely with the Council Community Park Rangers, and the work that we carry out for them has a great impact on the people that use those areas, and the wildlife that lives there.

Green Days is supported by volunteers from all walks of life, who mentor, encourage and act as positive role models for our participants. There are lots of benefits to volunteering with us, such as learning new skills, meeting new people and improved physical and mental health. And it is a great way to make a positive difference to the communities that we live in.
