Work Day August 14th 2016

12 volunteers got to work on this dry Sunday morning. 5 set out to complete the Boggy meadow survey that had started in June. A few extra species were identified and we were particularly pleased to see the extent of the Red Bartsia growth; this plant is a hemi-parasite that restricts grass growth and helps to establish more biodiversity.

Most of the other workers cut down the brambles and undergrowth alongside the paths so that they are are clear for walking. Paul headed off in the other direction to clear one of the ponds, also producing a very damp dog at the end!
Thank you to all who supported today, especially John Young whose expertise, working alongside Peter, was invaluable.
