Workday July 19th 2015

12 volunteers met at Heol Esgyn on a sunny Sunday morning. We separated into four groups and had a very productive day.
There was a blockage in the Nant Fawr that was removed, and the water soon ran freely again - quite a lot of it thanks to the recent rain!
Some ditches were dug out further back in Woods Covert so that water could drain more effectively into the river.
The stream and surrounding area was cleared of litter

The last group cleared the undergrowth from the two orchards - one in the Paddock area and the other near the stream in Woods Covert.

A couple of the trees were laden with apples but they were left to ripen.
The plants have grown very rapidly this year and for those who like their foraging - it looks as if there will be a bumper crop of blackberries soon.
