The Friends of Nant Fawr are very concerned about the suggestion in the proposals to develop the
Llanishen and Lisvane Reservoirs that an enhanced cycle path should be developed through the woods and meadows of the Nant Fawr corridor.
This has been included in the Cardiff Council cycling plans for some years now, and will be resisted strongly by the families and dog walkers who use the area. There has been an increased interest in our site during the recent pandemic and it has been good to see more people than usual enjoying the scenery.
There have however been some "near misses" apparently on the current paths and we hope that we can raise awareness of the dangers of developing a fast "super-cycle highway".
Surely we do not have to wait until there is a serious accident before this idea is scrapped?
