Cardiff High School orchard

Pupils from the Cardiff High CoPE group and their teachers joined Kevin (our Ranger) and volunteers on Wednesday, January 18th, to work in the orchard that has been established over the last 2 years.

The trees were pruned and vegetation around each tree was cleared and sown with yellow rattle seeds (to restrict grass growth).

Of the 18 trees planted, 14 apple, pear, cherry and plum trees are now flourishing. Hopefully, more will start to bear fruit this year.
